Before I started Banting I was over-weight (@125kg), had cholesterol (2 pills daily), high blood pressure (on medication), and had sleep apnea (I slept with the machine for 5 years)
Then I heard about it from a radio interview with prof Noakes.
What happened next was, I bought the book RMR, read it, and tried to understand where it came from. I am an artisan (no medical background), but what I read, made sense to me.
And now, I am 33kg less (I now weigh 92kg), my cholesterol stayed the same (as it was on the medication) when I stopped the medication (my GP said it is ok to stop the medication)
My final comment on Banting is that I am sure that it will help everybody’s health to improve, more energy and general good health.
