Jamaican Jerk Chicken


This Jamaican jerk chicken recipe will transport you to Jamaica via your tastebuds.

6 Servings

Wet Jerk
8 medium spring onions (chopped)
1 whole red chilli (stemmed and finely chopped)
½ cup avocado oil
75 ml lime juice (juice of 3 limes)
3 cloves garlic (peeled)
6 sprigs thyme
1 handful basil leaves
1 handful coriander leaves
2 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp allspice
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp ground cumin
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

6 chicken drumsticks with skin on
6 chicken thighs with the bone in.
2 whole limes (cut into wedges)


Wet Jerk
Whizz everything except for the chicken and the lime wedges up in a blender.

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Mix the jerk with the chicken pieces in a bowl, then spread them evenly over a medium sized baking tray and place them in the oven for 35 minutes.

Place them on a serving platter and serve with fresh lime wedges.
